EA announced that there will no longer be gender-specific character restrictions in their lifestyle simulation game The Sims. Character customization choices such as hair styles, voice pitch, clothes, accessories and 700 other features, will be available for both male and female characters. Maxis, the EA subsidiary that makes the game, announced in a blog post. “The Sims is made by a diverse team for a diverse audience, and it’s really important to us that players are able to be creative and express themselves through our games,”
Thursdays release update for The Sims 4 makes more than 700 existing pieces of content gender-neutral giving them the control they’ve always wanted to customize their character without gender restrictions. Men can wear a sexy skirt and boots and women can have a baritone voice and wear suits and blazers. The update also applies to customization options in the base game and existing DLC packs for the “Create a Sim” mode.
