Cuba’s best tresero and next rising star San Miguel, announces the release of his debut album, a residency at The Mint and Summer dates in July.
San Miguel’s debut album also titled “Un Poquito de Amor Every Day” (Everybody Needs Some Love Today) is scheduled for release on May 26th and features an unprecedented bilingual and bicultural collaboration with none other than the legendary Colin Hay, from Men At Work.
The song promotes promotes unity in culture, affinities through music and it hopes to give everyone a “little bit of happiness every day”, as described, by Pérez. The uplifting song that mixes contemporary son cubano guitars with catchy pop lyrics, was penned by both artists.
“I always wanted to mix my Cuban roots with a rock/pop sound.I was lucky enough to be able to work with Colin Haywho immediately related to the messaging of the songand just naturally wanted to collaborate in the creation of the melody and the chorus, with the help of Cecilia Noël.”
