First-ever fan-owned entertainment company harnesses the power of its fan-investors following successful opening weekend in LA and NY
Legion M, the world’s first fan-owned entertainment company, is organizing screening meet-ups around the country to celebrate the theatrical expansion of their first feature film, “Colossal.” While the meet-ups are open to the public, they also represent Legion M’s first opportunity as an entertainment company to showcase the power of its community to drive ticket sales and awareness. The meet-ups follow the successful limited release of “Colossal” in Los Angeles and New York, where Legion M hosted hundreds of Legion M members for a weekend of screenings and Q&As. The film had the highest per-screen average of any film released this weekend.
Distributed by Neon, Colossal follows Gloria (Anne Hathaway), an out-of-work party girl who, after getting kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her hometown. When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world. The film is directed by Nacho Vigalondo and also stars Jason Sudeikis.
