Thursday , September 28th, was opening night of The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor 2017. This was our third year at Dark Harbor and we were excited to see what they had in store for us this year.
The Queen Mary is already legendary for being an activiely haunted location, so where better to experience monsters and mazes on board and on the grounds surrounding the iconic ship. This year gives us more monsters, more mazes and more nights to get the **** scared out of you.
We were there on media night which was held a couple of hours before opening to the general public, and celebs took some time to walk the black carpet at the entrance.

The newest shipboard maze is , FEAST, which harbors a new spirit, CHEF. who’s secret ingredient could be you. Along with CHEF, are our old favorites Iron Master, Captain, Samuel the Savage, Graceful Gale, Half-Hatch Henry, Scary Mary, Voodoo Priestess, Ringmaster, and hundreds of their bloodcurdling henchmen, who continue to haunt Dark Harbor guests.
There was also a chilling new bar , Chef’s Meat Locker that gave a very unique 7-degree ice bar experience. And speaking of bars, see if you can find the secret hiidden sidebar’s hidden inside one of the mazes. (SHHH!! ..our lips are sealed).
The returning mazes were intensified this year for an even more bonec-hilling eperience.
INTREPID, where you meet the IRON MASTER , who is the Queen Mary protector.
CIRCUS, you meet the RINGMASTER as you walk through sideshow freaks, frightening illusions and try to make your way out of the disorienting hall of mirrors.
DEADRISE, you are introduced to the CAPTAIN and his dark, dead crew .
SOULMATE, where GRACEFUL GALE looks desperately for her soulmate.
B340, where you enter into the twisted nightmarish mind of SAMUEL THE SAVAGE.
LULLABY, where poor lonely SCARY MARY is trying to find a new playmate.
Besides the mazes, there is much more to see and do. There were a couple of stages where you could see fire dancing ghouls and acrobats, singing monsters, clowns and creepy sliders everywhere you turn. The Mainstage has a DJ and entertainment.
The SINISTER SWING ( a ride from Michael Jacksons Neverland Ranch) is a great way to catch a thrill and clear your head.
And for you VIP’s, there are the private Creepy Cabanas, where I got serenaded by one of ghoulish performers. There is also the R.I,P. Lounge, with a view of the all excitement from on board the ship and features an all-you-can-eat taco bar ( be prepared to stand in long lines for this one).
There was also some great food ( not many Vegan option though) and if you are over 21, try the Tequila and Whiskey Flights.
Once again, had a great time being scared and entertained.
