On Saturday, December 3rd Morrison Hotel Gallery presented Parental Advisory: Explicit Images at Art Basel – A Hip-Hop Event and Photography Exhibition and Sale co-hosted by gallery co-owner and photographer Timothy White and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels from Run-DMC exclusively at EAST, Miami.
This special show was unlike any other at Art Basel. Darryl “DMC” McDaniels put on a larger-than-life performance to an intimate crowd of a few hundred fans, media and VIPs. It was an up-close and personal event, a boutique show that kept things intimate between DMC and the audience.
Morrison Hotel Gallery and DMC turned the 39th floor of EAST, Miami into a Hip-Hop Speakeasy. DMC’s performance and speech were prolific – the one show at Art Basel that was an education in Hip-Hop and art, given in the most epic of ways.
