When Del Records exclusive recording artist Lenin Ramirez collaborated with fellow labelmates and “social media sensation” T3R Elemento, a group infamous about composing [writing] and performing corridos [folk tales or songs] about marijuana, on what would become a classic single titled “Rolling One,” in reference to rolling a marijuana cigarette or blunt [and its lifestyle] sometime in April, 2018, little did they know or could have imagined, that it would “give birth” to what was announced [Tues. – Jan 29], at a Del Records press conference, a “fifty stop” [up to now] U.S. Tour: El Mundo da Vueltas, [Spanish for the World is Spinning], featuring Ramirez, T3R Elemento, and [also] Del Records newcomer Oscar Cortez, the man behind “classic singles” like “Del Rojo,” “Callejón 58,” and “El Ghetto,” who has brought a “fresh and new sound” to [corridos] folktales, [and unlike other artists whose songs primarily chronicle the drug ‘trade and culture’ in Mexico], his songs speak and chronicle the lifestyle of the streets of Los Angeles, [Ca.].
“We are here for our fans, the music we do is for them, so if the fans want us three [acts] on stage at the same time when we perform during the tour, we are going to please them. We are all equal here, there are no headliners, just labelmates sharing our [gift of] music with our fans and what we do is for them,” eloquently explained Ramirez, the talented singer/songwriter who hails from Culiacan, Sinaloa [Mexico]. “With that in mind we all [three] collaborated on a new song and single titled “Hierba de Reseta,” [Spanish for Prescribed Herb] that we hope our fans like, and we anticipate among other surprises, performing the song together thoughout the tour.”
The tour with fifty [plus] dates will begin Feb. 8, 2019, at [The] Titanic Event Center, in N.S. Carolina, [N.C.], coming to [EL] Potreros Night Club, in Cudahy, [Ca.], on Feb. 16, 2019, before [other tour] dates scheduled for March through August [2019] start, and eventually ending Oct. 12, 2019, at Terrenos de la Feria, in Santa Rosa, [Ca.].
“Songs about marijuana have taken off and have “recently became popular” within the Norteño [Regional Mexican] genre and that’s what the theme behind the tour [and its logo] is all about. This year we’re celebrating ten years as a company [Del Records], and I have been doing these tours for “seven years” now. I could do a tour with just one of my [many] acts signed to the the label, but “I’m a visionary,” always looking to innovate as I anticipate the future, and I want to give the public [and fans] the most for their money,” explained Angel “Junior” Del Villar, founder and CEO, [of] Del Records, who joined all three acts who will [eventually] tour during the press conference. “Cortez is one of our young and promising [up and coming] new talents here at Del, and we anticipate a lot of “great things with him” that are in the works. This tour with him, Lenin, and T3R, is a testament to that.”
Cortez, [who in my opinion] got his feet wet and experienced what “performing is going to be like” as one of the opening acts during the previous [Del Entertainment] 2 Mundos Una Histortia 6 tour stop, at Pico Rivera Sports Arena, Pico Rivera, [Ca.], held Sun. – Aug. 12, 2018, in which fellow labelmates Cheli Madrid, Regulo Caro [still a Del Records artist at the time], T3R Elemento, and Gerardo Ortiz, also performed.
“I’m very exited, blessed and [also very] happy for everything that is happening, I have “worked and dreamed” about all of this for a long time and to finally be going on tour with Lenin [Ramirez], and T3R Elemento, two talented artists [acts] I look up to and admire, I couldn’t ask for anything more,” explained the “very anxious” [Oscar] Cortez.
