This year, the celebration of Day of the Dead in Hollywood Forever was dedicated to the Huicholes. They boast one of the largest Day of the Dead celebrations with over 40,000 people attending. The focus of the event was spiritual and included shamans from Nayarit.
On the Day of the Dead souls come to celebrate with their favorite food, drink, and music. There were artists, dancers, processions and beautiful altar presentations throughout, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, promoting spirituality and Mexican cultural diversity for the entire family.
The event, ran from noon to midnight, with a musical performance by singer Lila Downs, and a procession and several demonstrations of shamanic rituals.
