On Sunday, September 3rd, Ariana Savalas performed her The Ménage a Tour! at Spaghettini. The show wastotally campy, totally entertaining, totally risque,
As Ariana scurried to the stage wearing a short white jacket with a fur collar and hat, the salty, racy tone was cast. Ariana Savalas soared through the night as the queen of modern day burlesque in which she warbled, crooned, whistled, teased, danced, rollicked, shimmered, wiggled and twinkled brilliantly… Add a touch of vaudeville humor and flair for drama… the audience received a gift of frolicking fun and superb musical quality.
The musical director, Mark Vogel provided a delightful foil to Ariana’s provocative jokes. They performed a number where he showed his superb classical chops on the keys while Ariana whistled the complex music back with supreme mastery. The dancers, Blake McIver, Louis Williams and Joe Martone strutted and slinked around the queen with exquisite skill. Their costume changes included English soldiers, Playboy Bunnies, white pinafore skirts with red shimmering tops… need I say more.
