The iconic Judy Garland’s birthday was celebrated with pride at the Hollywood Heritage Museum, Sunday, June 9th, ending their highly successful 10-week long “Meet the Stars” exhibit celebrating MGM’s spectacular 100 year history. It was also the global launch of Vince Spinnato’s latest fragrance, Judy in Oz.
Judy Garland was MGM’s biggest gem. The exhibit inside was beautiful and friends and fans frolicked outside under the beautiful California sky, joining special guests Joey Luft & Vanessa O’Neil, to celebrate the legendary Matriarch’s birthday… It was definitely a feel-good event with the group camaraderie being warm and overflowing with joy to honor the beloved Star… “Today would have been my Grandmother’s 102nd birthday. It has been an absolute honor to be able to ring in her birthday while celebrating pride at the Hollywood Heritage Museum! It is such a gem in the middle of Hollywood. It’s so special to be around such supportive people of my Grandmother & my Family. I’m absolutely thrilled for the release of our new Judy Garland body Mist. A perfect Sunday afternoon if you ask me!”
It was also a pleasure to meet Mr. Luft with friend Meredith Ponedel (her mom, Dottie, was Judy’s longtime make-up artist). Joey was very approachable and friendly reminiscing about his beloved Mom’s extraordinary life, career and long-lasting legacy. What a treat! Singer Glume Harlow beautifully serenaded the crowd. Sid Krofft, Karie Bible, Kassandra Carroll, Ryan Cassidy & Jessica “Sugar” Kiper and celebrity photographer Billy Bennight also attended along with my very supportive friend Gay Parker who drove in from Northern CA.

Heritage’s Bonnie Tsung commented, “Judy is arguably the most iconic of Hollywood legends… it’s fitting that we celebrate her spirit together”… Thank you Kassandra Carroll for inviting me to this very special and memorable event & happy birthday to the beloved Judy Garland…. I agree with Vanessa – it was the perfect Sunday afternoon! Thank you Hollywood Heritage!
