On Sept 19, 2017 The Hollywood Sci Fi Museum honored Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols while raising money to keep us all looking at our future and into the stars. The event was organized to help raised funds for the 2018 Hollywood Science Fiction Museum building and Educational Foundation. The star studded event was held at Ripley’s Believe it Or Not in the heart of Hollywood.
The goal of The Hollywood Science Fiction Museum is to teach and inspire people of all ages an uplifting vision of the future found in science fiction media, art and literature. HSFM will teach real science through science fiction, including technology, ecology, engineering, computers, robotics, math, space travel and all aspects of film making through fun, interactive exhibits and programs.
Guests included celebs, Veteran Actor Peter Kwon (Big Trouble in Little China), Maria Russell ( Lights Out), Actress / Writer Jennifer Durst (The Occupants), Actress Claudia Wells ( Back To The Future), Actress and Singer Chase Masterson (Star Trek DS9) , Actress and Producer Almayvonne (The Bad Batch), Actor Cory Roberts (The Bad Batch), Actor Joey Luthman (Fox 21 Television Studios), Actress Tara-Nicole Azarian (Game Shakers, Tara Cosplay)), Actor Nicholas Azarian (Nerdtabulous ), Musician Montana Shane, Actor and YouTube Icon Ilmar Molder, Jamie Pruden: (Canadian Fantasy Artist), Writer/Director Huston Huddleston, Rico E. Anderson (Orville), Ava Cantrell (Lights Out), Casey Burke ( The Middle), Writer Shari Verona, Emmy Nominated Editor Stephen Waicholis, Writer Andrew Secunda, Actress Tatyana Figueiredo, Producer Chris Roe, Actor/Producer Matt O’Neill, as well as HSFM Board members , Kick Starter Investors and Avid Science Fiction Advocates .
Attendees were all treated to food, drink, swag, a trip through the oddities at Ripleys’s,Museum, an auction and the honor of sitting in a Replica of the original Star Trek’s Capitan Kirks Chair.
Unfortunately, Nichelle Nichols was unable to make the event, but Chase Masterson graciously stopped in to represent the Star Trek contingent.
