OUR NAME IS BARBRA 2018: A Benefit for PROJECT ANGEL FOOD” www.angelfood.org. had their annual fund raiser Sunday, April 22nd at the Catalina Jazz Club. Producer, Clifford Bell once again put together a star studded lineup of musicians and vocalists that rocked the house with the musical spirit of legendary Barbra Streisand.
The Musical Directors for the evening were – DAVID SCOTT COHEN, RON SNYDER, and MICHAEL COLLUM – and the band members were: AL GARCIA, bass and TOM BOWE, drums.
Here were the thoroughly magical performers that hit the stage:
MELANIE TAYLOR & TERRY WOLLMAN, DANA MELLER, ANGELO DIVINO, KIKI EBSEN, IRA HILL, MARYJO MUNDY, RENA STROBER & DAVID CHILDS, DAVE DAMIANI & ALEXANDER FRANK, PATRICIA WHITEMAN, MICHAEL KEENEN MILLER, MANDY KEMP, JUSTIN CHARLES COWDEN & LEXI MARMAM COWDEN, AMY RUBINATE, ILENE GRAFF & BEN LANZARONE, JONI BROBST, DAVID ZIMMERMAN, TER GALLAGHER, STEVE MASTERSON & BILL NEWLIN, ANDREA MARCOVICCI & SHELLY MARKHAM, and ARTIE BUTLER.
The show stopping moment was when Artie Butler, composer and lyricist of “Here’s to Life” sat at the piano and sang his hit song that Barbra Streisand recorded as her own.
Clifford BellClifford Bell summed up the two and half hour concert’s success by acknowledging that the audience …
“THEY STAYED UNTIL THE END!!!!!”
Of course we did because it was a fabulous night of talent honoring Barbra Streisand’s birthday.
