Los Tigres Del Norte, Hombres G, Enanitos Verdes, El Tri, El Gran Silencio, Monsieur Periné, and Flor De Toloache are amongst “a multitude of artists” scheduled to perform during the 5th Annual Ruidofest, [in my opinion] the best “family friendly” Latin music festival in the country. The three day event sponsored by Estrella Jalisco, Toyota, McDonald’s, and [Los] White Sox’s, among others, will feature music, food and art, will take place June 21, 22, and 23, 2019, at the historic Union Park, Chicago, [IL].

Forecasted [bad] weather and a few hours of morning rain during last year’s festival on Fri- June 22 [which in some spots turned muddy] wasn’t an excuse to keep attendees away from the festival’s high caliber entertainment, which also included a ring with wrestlers [predominately enjoyed by the kids], great food, and drinks for all ages.

Ruidofest [also has become a platform and] has allowed for local up-and-coming talent to play and perform, and others to even showcase their art.

“We’re glad [2018] Ruidofest gave local up-and-coming bands like us the opportunity to play here, this is a dream come true, and one checked off our bucket list of things to do or to be accomplished,” eloquently explained Jessica Rodriguez, [vocalist] of The Braided Janes, during a brief press conference after their show. “We’re classified as a post Punk, Latin rock [band], but our influences are more than that and that’s evident in the sound of our music. We’re really interested in social change, and our core and footprint and what we represent, is being a band for the people by the people.”

As of Mar. 15, [2019] event organizers [a collaborative effort between Riot Fest, Star Events, Metronome Chicago and Rock Sin Anestesia] had announced they had booked 34 acts, with more to be [eventually] added. Last year’s Ruidofest had “52 acts” perform, amongst them was [EDM Dj] Silverio, the alter ego of Julián Lede of the cult electronic rock band Titán, who is [also] on this year’s bill.
