Resurrection Fern is not only making good music, she’s setting an example for other musicians.
Fern is leading the way for the music business with her new approach to harnessing live music, and with her new video for the sweeping song, “Siren.”
“Siren” is Fern’s third single released off her yet-unnamed, upcoming album. And her colorfully animated video is not considered a selfie even though it was shot on her own iPhone by Fern herself. It was created on a new app on the handheld.
The DIY approach has been tried again and again in myriad different ways, but it seems Fern has got the right combination of distribution and marketing platforms converging. The beauty is she captures the live performance for people on the go.
The Twitch channel, which gives performers a chance to live stream, is a relatively new opportunity to connect with fans in real time. Fern raises money for her albums that way. It’s also a chance to spend some feel-good time with her followers and spreads the love to her social media accounts like Twitter.
If potential followers aren’t able to join her live show, viewers can catch her on YouTube, where she posts her Twitch shows after the fact.
Resurrection Fern is a good example of what the musician and performer of today can actually do instead of worrying about competition and the fact that almost anyone can cut a record today.
