The L.A. Screening of TV One’s New Original Film “RINGSIDE” was a knockout

 

Building on the success of the network’s original film strategy led by hits Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story and its 2015 American Black Film Festival screenplay competition winner Bad Dad RehabTV One steps into the sports arena with its latest original film, Ringside.  Written, produced and directed by nationally syndicated radio host Russ Parr (Hear No Evil, The Undershepherd, 35 and Ticking)Ringside stars Tyler Lepley (The Haves and the Have Nots, Baggage Claim) as undefeated boxer Jaxon Hollie and explores the personal battles he faces outside of the ring while preparing for the biggest fight of his career

It was standing room only as the audience packed the SAG-AFTRA Foundation screening room to watch a special viewing of TV One’s latest original movie “Ringside.” Written, produced and directed by nationally syndicated radio host Russ Parr (Hear No Evil, The Undershepherd, 35 and Ticking), Ringside stars Tyler Lepley (The Haves and the Have Nots, Baggage Claim) as undefeated boxer Jaxon Hollie and explores the personal battles he faces outside of the ring while preparing for the biggest fight of his career.

Following the screening, Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner moderated a Q&A session with Russ Parr and the Ringside cast. Tyler Lepley, Jackie Long (Real Husbands of Hollywood)Allen Maldonado (Black-ish, Straight Outta Compton, Survivor’s Remorse), Raney Branch (Grey’s Anatomy, The Originals)Julissa Bermudez (Empire Girls), and Tequan Richmond (Everybody Hates Chris) gave perspective into the process of making Ringside and delivered comedy along with insightful advice to up and coming actors.
