In celebration of Miles Davis’s 90th birthday, The Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Plaza brought together two of today’s most innovative artists, Grammy winners, Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper to lay down their own legacy of ingenious music, which combines the ferocious chops of jazz rhythms and composition and suffusing it with hip hop and funk elements.
Glasper & Martin have known each other as adolescents since jazz camp and the love and respect each one had for each other was evident. The intricate, urbane, mastery of the voluminous rhapsody of their riffs poured over the audience…and we knew Miles was satisfied his legacy lived on here.
