LA SANTA CECILIA Receives GRAMMY® Nomination For “Buenaventura”.

This is the second time that La Santa Cecilia has been nominated for an award. In 2014 the band from Los Angeles, won in the category for Best Rock Album, Alternative or Urban.

 

“Buenaventura” is their sixth studio recording. The album debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard charts, and iTunes Soundscan US during its first week.

The quartet from Los Angeles announced the release of a new album for 2017, followed by a series of dates in the US, Mexico and Colombia. The group will return to Mexico starting in 2017 to begin work on their new album.

After their impressive presentation at the Latin American Music Awards and participation in Hispanic Heritage Awards, La Santa Cecilia toured several cities in the United States and Mexico, including stops at the renowned Festival Cervantino, the Indie Forum Rocks, and Zocalo Mexico city and closing the festival of “Day of the Dead” before more than 20,000 people.

The Santa Cecilia consists of accordionist and requintero Jose “Pepe”Carlos, bassist Alex Benda, percussionist Miguel “Bear” Ramirez and vocalist “The Marisoul” whose captivating voice sings about love, loss and disappointment!

The band, based in Los Angeles, takes its name from the patron saint of music and is the voice of a new bicultural generation in the US, completely immersed in modern music and the native art of a country that many call ” home “from young, mixing them into a new sound that pays homage to the traditional iqueza of Mexican heritage.
