Fantasy & Reality Collide in FRAMED: THE ADVENTURES OF ZION MAN

ED ASNER (Up, Elf, The Mary Tyler Moore Show) and JAEDEN LIEBERHER (St. Vincent, Midnight Special) star as Walter Kahn in Framed: The Adventures of Zion Man. The short film is inspired by the true story of Walter Kahn, a Jewish boy, coming of age in 1933 Germany. A classroom filled with WWII propaganda, a schoolboy crush, the schoolyard bully, Bruno, GABE WHITE (The Surface) and Nazi Officer, STEVE CELL (Castle, 24), prompts him to create a Super Hero Universe in which to escape. When his two worlds collide he will make a crucial decision that will change his life forever.

Jaeden Lieberher,
GABE WHITE

Framed: The Adventures of Zion Man written and directed by BRENDA LEE LAU and executive produced by Walter’s daughter, SYLVIA KAHN VERSACE, is an official selection for the HollyShorts Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, The Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival, San Diego Jewish Film Festival, and the Hollywood Independent Film Festival. This live action film includes touches of animation based upon the comic book drawings of Jaeden Lieberher.  Original score by composer Jason Derlatka and the title track, “Speak” by award-winning Russian-American singer/songwriter MARINA V, from her album Inner Superhero.

“Often we forget about how powerful one voice can be,” said Lau. “Walter learned that one comment could mean the worst for his family or inspire action that could save them all.”

Framed: The Adventures of Zion Man features a cast that includes 14 actors aged 14 or younger. It was shot in just 17 hours over the course of a single weekend in August 2015.
