Is Jon Snow’s Fate Revealed on ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Premiere

(Spoiler alert: Please do not keep reading if you haven’t seen the Season 6 premiere of “Game of Thrones”)

“Game of Thrones” is back for Season 6 and it looks like Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) really is dead.

The opening of season 6 started where it left off.  Snow’s bloodied body  at Castle Black ,lying in the snow. Ghost, his direwolf , is wailing so much that it gets the attention of Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham). Seaworth and some of the  Night’s Watch brothers take Snow’s body and place it in a room close by and lock the door.

Near Winterfell, Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Theon (Alfie Allen) are on the run. The Boltons have sent men and dogs to recapture them, forcing the pair to wade through a freezing river to try and escape.

Hounds and soldiers sent by The Boltons ,corner Winterfell, Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Theon (Alfie Allen) who were on the run through the freezing river attempting to escape. As soon as they are cornered, Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and Podrick (Daniel Portman) suddenly kill the Bolton soldiers. Sansa accepts Brienne’s offer of protection, as Brienne swears her loyalty to Sansa.

Daario (Michiel Huisman) and Jorah (Iain Glen) are searching for Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), back in Essos, after she was wiscked off by her dragon at the end of last season.  In a field covered in horse tracks they discover her ring.  Jorah recognizes the ring as one made by a Dothraki khalasar.

Dothraki, is holding Daenerys prisoner . SHe is taken to Khal Moro (Joe Naufahu) who wanted to sleep with her, until he finds out that she is the widow of  Khal Drogo. Moro knows that  it is against Dothraki custom to lay with the widow of another Khal.

Daenerys offers Moro and his khalasar a gift of 1,000 horsesif they return her to Meereen. He doesn’t comply because Dothraki custom says that a  Khal’s widow has to live out her life mourning at the city of Vaes Dothrak.

Back in King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) returns from Dorne with Myrcella’s body, his and Cersei’s daughter. Cersei (Lena Headey) greif stricken and Jaime promises to exact revenge on their enemies, including Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), who blames the Lannisters for her lover, Oberyn’s death, back in season 4.  She kills Prince Doran (Alexander Siddig) and his son with the help of Sand Snakes, and takes control of  Dorne.

Arya (Maisie Williams) is still blind after using a face without permission from the Hall of Faces. SHe has to trun to begging on the streets of  Braavos. The Waif (Faye Marsay) tells her to fight back and tosses her a stick and proceeds to beat Arya leaving her lying in the street.

At The Wall, Davos brings Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) in to see Jon Snow’s body, but leaves immediately , still feeling shaken after failing to foresee Stannis’ downfall. Edd (Ben Crompton) is sent by Davos to talk the Wildlings into joining them. Thorne (Owen Teale) plans to take Snow’s body and kill anyone who is loyal to him.

Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) wander around Meereen dressed as merchants while they talk about how they will bring peace to a city that is on the brink of a civil war. The city’s problems are made evident when someone decides to set fire to all the ships in the harbor.

The episode concluded with Melisandre alone in her chambers, silently standing in front of a mirror and strips naked. She removes a jeweled choker from her neck, and  she is suddenly transformed into an wrinkled old woman.
