On Thursday, October 5th, Grayse of Fashion Island had a grand opening of their designer store at a new location, 347 Newport Ctr. Dr., Newport Beach. To celebrate the occasion, Marie, and Kelly Gray, owners of Grayse, put on a Fashion Show to highlight their fabulous collection of modern specialty separates designed to dress women who love quality, luxury, and style.
Marie and Kelly Gray have worked together for over twenty plus years. Both mother and daughter were heavily involved with developing the iconic fashion company, St. John Knits, which was founded by Robert and Marie Gray. Marie Gray expressed her admiration for her daughter in a previous interview.
“Kelly learned a lot from her father and a little bit from her Mom. She was very talented. To have a girl in her early twenties edit my collections was not an easy thing to do. To have survived it all is a testament to her talent. She told me, “Mom if you want your stuff to sell, you can’t do the same thing you did a year ago,” which meant she had the confidence to tell me if I was doing something wrong.”
Marie continued, “We are really excited to have our customers discover our new location. I love Newport Beach. I wouldn’t live anywhere else. It has great golf courses and great shopping.”
Grayse was packed full that evening with Newport Beach and South County residents. Everyone enjoyed the lovely ambiance of cocktails, hors-d’oeuvres, and wine tasting that was paired with a spectacular fashion show.
