“No somos lo que hacemos ni lo que pensamos. Tan solo somos la huella que dejamos.” [Spanish for “We’re not what we think or do, but merely the footprint of what we leave behind.”] reads the Cd inlay of Berkley School of Music alumni Beto Vargas, who held an intimate release party for his debut album “Huellas,” [Spanish for “Footprints“] on Wed. – June 6, held at the Gibson Showroom, Beverly Hills, [Ca].

“I started playing music as a kid when I was twelve, I grabbed the guitar and started playing, having many bands. Eventually, I also fell in love with producing and I decided to make a career of it, so I studied music, music production and became a producer, and a [recording] engineer as well, but always playing and never neglecting my [own personal] music, that’s how it all started,” explains the multitalented, composer, singer and Latin Grammy nominee from Bogotá, Colombia, who up to recently had been known [only] for his production and engineering work by the likes of John Legend, Barbara Streisand, and Jane’s Addiction, to name a few. “I first started studying music in Colombia at a place called La Jaberiana [The Pontifical Xavierian University], then attending Berkley School of Music [in Boston] was really [a game changer and] a dream for me, it was incredible the people I met, and what I learned, it was great, really great.”

The packed house [brought together by The 3 Collective] comprised of fans, colleagues, fellow musicians, and press were in for a treat, as Vargas, not only demonstrated his [musicianship] playing ability, but vocal [singing] chops, along with help of sisters Catalina and Natalia Quintana [known artistically as Georgina] who sang back-up vocals during [his] previously released singles like “Una Vez Más,” “Puro Rock n Roll,” and [Vargas’] current single “Como Decirte.” During “Puro Rock n Roll” Andie Sandoval, of the duo Mitre, also demonstrated her singing chops by joining Vargas on stage.
