The 2017 Grammy Awards Nominees

The 59^th Grammy Awards will be televised this Sunday, February 12^th, 8pn on CBS.  James Corden, of the “Late, Late Shows” will host the star-studded night, taking place at the Staple Center. The following musicians will perform: Adele, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban. The Weeknd, and Metallica just to name a few. Grammy nominated artists, Justin Bieber, Drake and Kanye West opted not to perform for various reasons.

Beyoncé leads with a total of nine nominations including album of the year. Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West earned eight nominations apiece, while Chance the Rapper was nominated for seven, Adele has five nominations.   The artists competing in the album of the year category are Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Drake and Sturgill Simpson.

One interesting fact about this year’s Grammys:

Chance, The Rapper will make his Grammy performance debut. The independent artist will make history with his nominations, as his Coloring Book album is the first streaming-only release to be nominated since the Grammys changed the eligibility rules to keep up with the evolving industry in June 2016.
