Larry Dunn’s Anthology of Earth, Wind and Fire’s band will perform a benefit concert for the Child Abuse Prevention Council on August 20th, 2016 at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, California.
“The Soul Nite Out benefit concert will help the Child Abuse Prevention Council raise funds for the prevention of child abuse in our community and keep kids safe,” said Carol Carrillo, MSW, Executive Director, Child Abuse Prevention Council.
Larry Dunn just received the Life Time Achievement Award from the Grammy’s, in April 2016, plus he is a six time Grammy Award winning musician as a member of Earth, Wind and Fire. When asked how he felt about accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award, Larry Dunn said,
“A Lifetime Achievement Award???…it’s so flattering and humbling…” then he quipped, “ I’m too young…I’m just getting started.”
Larry Dunn has also been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, as well as The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. The world renown keyboardist’s vision for his music has always been the same – whether Larry Dunn was a 15- year old prodigy gigging at jazz clubs or a young man writing beguiling R&B tunes for EW&F, ”I understood as a young kid that music was a beautiful thing. Music was a gift and puts smiles on people’s faces. To be blessed with that gift, you realize you have a responsibility to incorporate integrity into everything you do. If you have a talent, utilize it… if you have the spirit of God in you to bring joy and peace and happiness…then express it.”
On August 20th, Larry Dunn’s Anthology Of Earth, Wind and Fire’s orchestra will tear down the house with their blazing funky music and alter the audience’s age to 17 again. Everyone will be up and dancing wildly to that familiar sound of Earth Wind & Fire.
