‘Supergirl’ Makes the Move to The CW for Season 2

For it’s 2nd Season, “Supergirl” is moving to The CW.

There had been rumors for weeks regarding the fate of the DC comic book adaptation starring Melissa Benoist and the CBS-Warner Bros owned network confirmed that they will be picking up the show for its second season.

That won’t be the only change for “Supergirl” as the production on the show will move to Vancouver.  The CW’s “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” are all filmed in Vancouver as well. The move will open up some great opportunities for some crossovers

“Supergirl” centers around Kara Zor-El (Benoist), who has escaped Krypton years before. Kara has been hiding her powers since her arrival on planet Earth following her famous cousin, Superman.  At 24, she has decided that it is time for her to embrace her powers and finally become the super hero that she knows she was always meant to be.

The cast includes Calista Flockhart who plays Cat Grant, Kara’s boss, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, a former CIA agent and now the head of Department of Extra-Normal Operations, Chyler Leigh plays Alex Danvers, Kara’s older foster sister and Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen.

The series is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter serving as executive producers.
