Beverly Hills Car Club Announces the 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSI Owned By Legendary Jazz Musician Miles Davis Is Being Sold by Auction on EBAY
Beverly Hills Car Club is excited to announce it has acquired another collectible classic with major celebrity connection. The world’s largest dealer of European classic cars now possesses a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSI which is currently being auctioned by eBay and once belonged to iconic jazz musician Miles Davis. The Fly Yellow classic with a chocolate brown, leather interior with only 9589 original miles on the odometer, comes with proof of provenance.
“Miles Davis had such exquisite taste,” says Alex Manos, owner, and president of Beverly Hills Car Club. “It’s a unique and exciting experience to be able to offer something to the public from the Davis estate. It will be exciting to know who the next person to own and drive it will be.”
Miles Davis (1926-1991) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer, who was celebrated for staying on the forefront of the ever-changing styles of the genre throughout his 5 decade-long career in the music industry. He was a trendsetter, who accumulated 32 Grammy Award nominations and 8 wins, along with a long list of other honors. The BBC called Davis “the most important jazz figure of the second half of the 20th century and the Miles Davis legacy is an extraordinary and irresistible one.”
A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the Ferrari will go to the Grammy Museum Foundation for Music Education. “The GRAMMY Museum is deeply appreciative to the Beverly Hills Car Club for recognizing the importance of strengthening music education in our community,” said Michael Sticka, Executive Director of The GRAMMY Museum. “Through their generosity, we can continue to help foster the budding musical interests of all children.”
This sharp weekend driver features a five-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, Nardi steering wheel, power windows, and solid wheels.
